A tough watch and tough to mark as Town do what’s needed to come away with 3 points.

Matt’s ratings

Players are rated on a scale of 1-10 with 6 being used as an average to passable performance. TRIGGER WARNING! half marks will also be used if a player is between scores.

Jacob Chapman -6.5- Good with his feet, could have claimed more into the box including when Ahadme should have equalised. Very swift off his line at the death to deny Charlton a late equaliser.

Matty Pearson -7- Great header to put Town 1 up, should have scored a second and looked his commanding self before injury.

Tom Lees -7- Solid, steady and effective. 15 clearances shows the defensive work he got through.

Nigel Lonwijk -6- Every Nige performance is like ordering the mixed sweet n sour from your local chinese restaurant. One bite and you’ve got the nice soft chicken mixing with the tangy sweet and sour, the next you’ve got a dodgy prawn.

Brodie Spencer -5.5- He’s been done by a shambolic dive from Edmonds-Green for the penalty, but you’re not Peter Clarke, Brodie. You need to curb that urge to lunge in.

Herbie Kane -7- Struggled to stamp his authority at times in the first half, but a fine 2nd half display as he took over the midfield area.

David Kasumu -7.5- MAN OF THE MATCH Another good, consistent display capped with a new contract and he’s in the goalscoring form of his life. 3 this season is the most he’s got in a single campaign before.

Ben Wiles -7- A slow start, a good middle third and should have added to his tally in the final third of the game. A little too inconsistent within the game at times but when he’s good, he’s good.

Mickel Miller -6.5- Again, a tough one to mark. A good start to the game and good delivery to Pearson for his two chances, but after the break back to being a little too wasteful when in good positions.

Josh Koroma -5- Looked rusty and not quite match fit.

Rhys Healy -4.5- Largely anonymous before another injury. You’re made of stern stuff if you don’t feel for him.

Michal Helik -5.5- Had a tough last 15/20 after previously looking comfortable enough.

Bojan Radulovic-5- A couple of nice layoffs, but we’re at the stage where we need to see so much more from him.

Ollie Turton -6- Supported play the attack well enough but defensively needed to block a few more crosses to take the pressure off.

Callum Marshall -5- The 4th striker to not really show his true self today. Young players go through peaks and troughs, he’ll be back soon enough.
