Matt’s ratings
Players are rated on a scale of 1-10 with 6 being used as an average to passable performance. TRIGGER WARNING! half marks will also be used if a player is between scores.
Jacob Chapman -6- Struggled with a few crosses in the sun, but he was largely untroubled bar a Magennis header and slice.
Matty Pearson -8- Won the vast majority of all of his duels yet again and rose highest to nod home a Ben Wiles corner. The purple patch continues.
Tom Lees -8- Playing like a defender who’s played 642 senior games. Reads every situation well and deals with the vast majority in his vicinity.
Nigel Lonwijk -8- MAN OF THE MATCH. Joined the attack well up the left side, defended stoutly and I have to mark him up because he walked out with my son who was a mascot and Nigel was as classy with him as he was in the game. A top man.
Brodie Spencer -7- Ollie Turton would have had every right to have been disappointed at not being selected, but Spencer’s all action performance vindicated the managers decision.
Herbie Kane -7.5- Clever and creative. A 95% passing accuracy when looking forwards is no mean feat.
David Kasumu -7- Busy, busy, busy. Like a worker bee getting through lots of work in all phases of the pitch.
Ben Wiles -7.5- One goal, one assist makes it seven goal contributions so far this season, yet still took a slight bashing from a caller on Radio Leeds…
Mickel Miller -6.5- Not quite as good as last week but provides good energy down the left, and a promising partnership with Lonwijk is developing.
Callum Marshall -7- An absolute pest who never let the Exeter back 3 have a moments rest.
Danny Ward -6.5- Harshly ruled offside in the first half which would have put Town 2 up and did a lot of good hold up work around the box.
Rhys Healey -6- Good to see him getting minutes and will get sharper the more he plays.
Jonathan Hogg -NA- Not on long enough for a rating, but got touch tight to Exeter’s midfield as Town had them in a late chokehold to secure the win.
Antony Evans-NA- Quick cameo and looks like he has a point to prove.
Freddie Ladapo -NA- Only got a couple of minutes.
