Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton and Leicester have back to back Doubles in 36 and 37. Leicester Double in all 3 Gameweeks. Midfielders Maddison and Barnes are the two standouts from Sean Jarvis’s Leicester.
As far as the remaining Fixtures to rearrange, Man City and Wolves will Double in 36 or 37, depending on Fixtures outside the Premier League (European Fixtures and FA Cup). Aston Villa and Crystal Palace also have another Double to rearrange.
For the rest of the season, outside the Doubles, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have good fixtures.
For Gameweek 33, a lot of people are using their Free Hit Chip. Personally, I can see both sides of the argument, and it all depends on your team. There are 7 Doubles, however Brighton play Spurs and Man City away so that barely counts. In the Single Gameweek, Liverpool host Man Utd, but given Utd’s recent form (Season!) this isn’t as tough a Fixture as it once has been.
On the other hand, Man City play Brighton at home and free scoring Spurs also host Brighton.
I set up my team to cope with this Gameweek without a Free Hit. I have 6 Double Gameweek players with the rest of the starting 11 being Cancelo, Alexander-Arnold, Salah, Kulusevski and Kane. Those 5 could easily outscore any of the Double Gameweek players. For me, a Free Hit without Man City or Liverpool isn’t worth Free Hitting for. I own 1 Man City and 2 Liverpool, but if they were to Double, I would Free Hit to get 3 of each. As it is, Man Utd seem to be the most popular players for this Free Hit, which says everything. One of the games is against Liverpool as well.
For those on a Free Hit who do we target? For Goalkeepers and Defenders, Newcastle seem to have the kindest Fixtures, so Dubravka then either Schar or Targett. Arsenal are weakened without Tierney so Ramsdale is the only player I would go for. Cash for Villa is very attacking. In midfield, Leicester pair Maddison and Barnes, but check their European Fixture Thursday evening as the tight turnaround may hamper their minutes. Saka and Martinelli from Arsenal are always a threat. Up front it is slim pickings. Lacazette hasn’t scored from open play since February, Ings and Watkins aren’t pulling up any trees at Villa, Weghorst could go down as the worst FPL player of all time, but Adams at Southampton could be a good option.
Should you look at Single Gameweek players on a Free Hit? Absolutely. Cancelo, Son and Kane should all seriously be in our thoughts whether we Free Hit or not.
As far as Captaincy goes, Fernandes and Ronaldo from Man Utd seem to be the popular picks. Saka from Arsenal and Maddison from Leicester are also good picks, but the Single Gameweek players stand out for me more: Kane and Son from a revitalised Spurs and De Bruyne or Foden from Man City.
Deadline this week is Saturday 16th April, 11:00am.
