FPL GW11 Preview

We need to talk about Liverpool. Again.

Last week I did the unthinkable and put forward the prospect of selling Salah. A Blank last week against Arsenal was followed up by a 6-minure hat-trick against Rangers in the Champions League on Wednesday. That’s what he is capable of. I did sell him in GW10 and I aim to move forward without him until the World Cup after GW16. Luis Diaz has been ruled out until the World Cup which weakens the Liverpool attack, but Jota and Darwin are back fit, which will cause fresh rotation headaches. Jota and Darwin are listed as Forwards so a straight swap for Diaz isn’t possible. My Transfer recommendations this week were going to be Bowen, Maddison and Zaha, and as it happens I’ll use this as an opportunity to mention them as Diaz replacements. After the Blank in Gameweek 12 Foden and Martinelli are also great options.

In Defence, Alexander-Arnold is injured, off the back of 2 Clean Sheets in the first 10 games with 1 Goal and 1 Assist. There is no timescale on the injury but he is another serious option to sell due to underperformance. Moving the money into Midfield could be the way to go, with the mentioned Midfielders being options, or upgrading to Kane as well as Haaland up front. To downgrade in Defence, I would go as cheaply as Guehi (£4.3) of Crystal Palace as they are top of the Defensive Fixture list.

Captaincy is tricky, with Liverpool facing Man City. I don’t feel comfortable going against Haaland, especially with no Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool. Elsewhere, Spurs face Everton, with Kane being a good shout.

Gameweek 11 Deadline is Friday 14th October 18:30.
