Matt’s ratings

Players are rated on a scale of 1-10 with 6 being used as an average to passable performance. TRIGGER WARNING! half marks will also be used if a player is between scores.

Jacob Chapman -6.5- Not the busiest day, but he did absolutely nothing wrong. Distribution is a level up from Nicholls and Maxwell.

Brodie Spencer -7.5- Supported Sorensen well down the right flank and having pace at both wide centre back positions allowed Town to play much higher up the pitch and helped the midfield massively. Backed up a good performance at Birmingham and looks to be finding form.

Matty Pearson -7.5- Flanked by pace he was allowed to do Matty Pearson things. Eleven clearances and two blocks in a very solid and commanding display.

Nigel Lonwijk -7- That’s more like it, Nige. Adds the silk to Pearson’s steel with some nice passes into midfield.

Lasse Sorensen -6.5- Better. Looks to be coming out of a dip in form and was useful down the flank. Little more needed going forward but looks to be heading back in the right direction.

Joe Hodge -7- Adds better balance next to Kasumu and is growing in metaphorical stature. With a pass rate of 90% and a third of those passes being into the final third, Hodge is a game changer in midfield.

David Kasumu -8- MAN OF THE MATCH. A month ago, Steven Chicken quite rightly pointed out that Kasumu was our 6th choice central midfielder. He’s now the first name on the team sheet after three man of the match displays in a row. Incredible energy and support with 8 ball recoveries, 78% of ground duels won and a thunderbastard in the last minute. Classy Kas.

Ben Wiles -7.5- ALL BEN WILES UPON THE FIELD OF PLAYYYY. He’s much happier being able to exploit the extra space with 2 midfielders behind him and not one alongside him. Has his anonymous spells but when he’s involved things can happen and he’s won us another game with a great strike.

Mickel Miller -6.5- Some good carries and skillful moments down the left. I toyed with a higher mark and had his delivery being a little better on occasion, he’d have had one. Good showing though.

Callum Marshall -7- Marshall’s work rate is currently through the roof and is a great partner for whomever is beside him. Hopefully goals follow soon because he deserves one.

Bojan Radulovic -6.5- Probably his hardest working performance yet and came close to a goal on a few occasions. Despite the work-rate improvement he did lose most of his duels but looked a threat for 70 mins.

Freddie Ladapo -5- His first contribution was to stand on the ball and fall on his backside to sniggers around me, but played his part in the opening goal linking up with Herbie Kane with a nice ball around the corner.

Herbie Kane -7- Looked initially rattled by the heckles from the away end and almost got himself sent off within minutes of coming on. However, he recovered brilliantly and orchestrated Town’s first goal with clever play to silence the away fans.

Tom Lees -NA- Came on to shore things up in injury time and did the job.
