Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the waaaay. Oh what fun it is to see The ‘Udders win away.

Matt’s ratings

Players are rated on a scale of 1-10 with 6 being used as an average to passable performance. TRIGGER WARNING! half marks will also be used if a player is between scores.

Jacob Chapman -7- Almost a silent night for Chappers. Used the ball well to play into midfield and handled what Cambridge had to throw at him.

Tom Lees -7- Back from illness and showed no.. ill effects. Sorry. Lees won 70% of his duels and made 11 clearances in a defensively solid display.

Michal Helik -7.5- The big man is starting to look sharper as he comes back into form. A 77% duel success showed his dominance against a tricky opponent in Nlundulu and his 89% passing accuracy showed his composure in possession.

Brodie Spencer -8- It was important for Brodie to follow up his impressive performance against Lincoln with another fine display and he didn’t let himself down. A 66.6% duel win against an experienced Elias Kachunga was welcome as was his 2nd goal in as many games to put Town 2-0 up.

Ollie Turton -6.5- Front footed and steady away. The majority of Town attacks came down the left which allowed Turton to do what he does best in wrapping around on the cover.

Herbie Kane -7- Only won 40% of his duels, but kept things ticking along in midfield with some sharp and incisive passing.

David Kasumu -8- Since coming back into the side at Reading, Kasumu now has 4 goals in 16 games. That’s one more goal than his previous 163 games spanning his entire career. Kasumu was one again a force of nature, racking up the miles with 10 defensive actions and 11 duels won.

Ben Wiles -7- A very standard in and out Wiles performance. His passing was once again very good in terms of its accuracy and his bursts from midfield caused several moments of panic for the Cambridge defence in the first half.

Josh Koroma -7- A pain in the backside for Bennett at right wingback for Cambridge as Koroma teased and tormented him until he was taken off. Forced a good save from the keeper when Marshall followed up the rebound for goal 4 and made a nuisance of himself.

Callum Marshall -9- MAN OF THE MATCH - Bit good that, wasn’t it? On The Drive in myself and Killer praised Marshall for his efforts against Lincoln and felt that he could now go on a run as his confidence returned, and return it did. Two goals, one assist and a performance full of effort, clever link play and maturity. His finest performance in a Town shirt yet.

Danny Ward -7- Another good showing from Ward who may not currently be receiving the plaudits but his unselfish link work is currently bringing out better performances of who he is paired with. Excellent at dropping into pockets of space to receive the ball and cause problems, Wardy was certainly the Robin to Marshall’s Batman.

Freddie Ladapo -6- Better. Caused a couple of issues for the Cambridge backline by using the ball well when he had it under control.

Tom Iorpenda -6.5- A good 15 mins or so under his belt and looked imposing.

Conor Falls -NA- It’s always great to see young lads make their debut. Here’s hoping for many more with a long and successful career.
