FPL GW18 Preview

Gameweek 17 saw FPL come back with a bang, with many of the highly owned players scoring big. However, a couple of players were a cause for concern, which is what we’ll look at in this week’s Preview.

Chelsea’s Reece James returned after an injury but lasted just 52 minutes before going off with another injury and is expected to be out around a month. If you don’t have Newcastle’s Trippier that is an easy move. Elsewhere, fellow Chelsea Defender Cucurella is a good sideways move if you want to capitalise on their Double Gameweek in GW19. Arsenal’s Gabriel is my pick from the Gunners, with Saliba on 4 yellow cards, with one more causing a one match Suspension. Brighton and Man Utd could potentially have a Double lined up in the next few weeks, with Dunk and Shaw being my picks.

Newcastle’s Callum Wilson was missing through illness, with Chris Wood stepping in and scoring a penalty that would have been Wilson’s. There is no timeframe on his recovery as of yet, so should be in contention to sell. Fulham’s Mitrovic was an injury doubt according to boss Marco Silva, but he played and racked up 15 points thanks to a goal, 2 assists and 3 Bonus points. Brentford’s Toney also scored, his 11th of the season. Chelsea’s Havertz scored, assisted and secured all 3 Bonus points for a 12-point haul. All three players are in the same mid price bracket as Wilson.

It is worth noting Chelsea and Fulham both Double next Gameweek, so have this in mind when choosing your Transfers. Mitrovic is on 4 yellows, so one more equals a Suspension, which would impact his Double.

Captaincy wise, Man City are home to Everton, with Haaland being the man to look at. Liverpool host Leicester, with Salah being the most likely. Chelsea travel to Notts Forest, where Havertz could be a good Differential, as could Man Utd’s Rashford and Martial, as they travel to Wolves.
