FPL GW17 Preview

Another quick FPL turnaround, and here’s a tip I give to every new FPL manager: never miss a deadline.

Man City’s Joao Cancelo is suspended for this GW and a lot of people are selling him, wrongly so in my opinion, as it’ll just be one game he’ll miss. City still have a great run of fixtures ahead.

The other side of Manchester has a Covid outbreak which may threaten to postpone their away fixture to Brentford. Thankfully the game is on the first day of the gameweek so we’ll have plenty of warning if it is called off.

The Spurs game is not yet called off, as they travel to Leicester on Thursday.

All we can do is keep a close eye on the news for both fixtures and have a contingency plan in place should they be postponed.

For those of us with Ronaldo, should the game be postponed I’d be tempted to hold onto him. Vardy and Kane both may also be called off, Lukaku isn’t yet back in the starting 11, so there isn’t really a standout option.

As far as a watchlist goes, I don’t really have one at the moment. The good fixture runs I’ve highlighted previously; Chelsea and Man Utd, remain, and transfers at the moment are reactionary to game postponements.

Captaincy - Salah home to Newcastle. Man City home to Leeds is a great fixture but with the usual Pep Rotation it’ll be risky to pick out a player, especially with a midweek game which are usually more prone to rotation.

Deadline this week is Tuesday 14th December, 18:00m.
