Matt’s ratings
Players are rated on a scale of 1-10 with 6 being used as an average to passable performance. TRIGGER WARNING! half marks will also be used if a player is between scores.
Lee Nicholls -8- MAN OF THE MATCH. There are 2500 gods or deities ranging from the early polytheistic societies of Hittite, Sumerian, Mesopotamian up to the more modern contemporary gods of the major monotheistic religions. If anyone wonders where I am, I’ll be thanking every single one of them that this man is still here after the transfer window.
Tom Lees -6- Rumours coming into this game that he had a niggle. Played ok, but Tom, that was a sitter in the first half, mate.
Michal Helik -7- Good enough defending the box with a mammoth 10 clearances, but his distribution lacked.
Nigel Lonwijk -7- Understandably took a little while to get to grips with the game but once he did he looked like a very good signing. Pleasing.
Lasse Sorensen -4- Still my lad’s favourite player, but seemed to lose his head in the 2nd half. Calmer heads prevail, Lasse. Never a penalty though, complete joke decision.
Jonathan Hogg -5- Overplayed these past few weeks and it showed today with Hoggy showing for the ball less, and looking tired in the last 20 minutes hence the non challenge on the winner. It’s now time for him to play the ‘see the game out’ role. It was time 2 years ago, in truth.
Antony Evans -4.5- The passing into midfield was poor but Evans wasn’t at the races either. Again.
Ben Wiles -4.5- After some really promising early performances, Wiles is slowly slipping back to past form. Let’s hope it’s a blip.
Mickel Miller -5- Not his best performance, but it shouldn’t negate from a good start to his Town career.
Callum Marshall -6- Lively at times, but needs a bit more structure to his build up. It’ll come.
Josh Koroma -7.5- Town’s outstanding outfield player. Ran the channels well and great assist for a Hodge debut goal.
Danny Ward -NA- Lazily got himself in the wrong position seconds prior to the sending off and whereas I think the red was harsh due to there being no contact, it’s still stupid of Ward to put the doubt in the pillock in illuminous yellow’s head.
Joe Hodge -7- Nice to see him get off to a great start. Says he likes to play like Kante, it’s time to see it in action.
Josh Ruffels -NA- Not on long enough for a mark.
Ollie Turton -NA- Not on long enough for a mark.
