FPL GW2 Preview
Of the 38 Gameweek season, GW2 will have the shortest Preview, as there is but one thing to say…
Do Nothing.
No FPL team will be in such a mess after one Gameweek that it needs major surgery. Popular picks in Mount, Sterling, Jesus and Diaz all blanked, but we are one Gameweek in, remember, you brought them into your team for a reason; because they are great picks, and nothing has changed. They are still great picks. Give them another Gameweek, where you will have twice as much data to review.
Maybe you planned to transfer Kane to Haaland, but that ran the risk of a Price Rise or Fall, and as it turns out, both have happened. Haaland has gone up to £11.6 and Kane has gone down to £11.4. If you still want to make the move, it will need two transfers (unless you held money back), therefore a -4 points hit will be needed and £0.5 will need to be taken out of another position. Is it worth it? Kane’s Fixtures are good, apart from GW2 where he travels to Chelsea, with Haaland’s Man City hosting Bournemouth. It is a tough call, personally I started the season with Haaland so I do not need to make the decision, but if I were to make a call, I would stick with Kane now the Price Changes have occurred.
As far as Transfers go, again, Do Nothing, do not kneejerk players in who did well in GW1. Defenders Dier, Sessegnon, Schar and Castagne all scored, but do not bring them in because of this. If any of them score another 2 goals over the rest of the season I would be amazed.
Personally, I am keeping the Transfer. I set my squad up for the first 8 weeks. I do own Perisic, who I benched in GW1 and will do the same in GW2. I bought him in for a reason and that reason hasn’t changed. It was always the plan to bench him in the first 2 Gameweeks, so if you have him as well, I would hold him.
Captaincy this week, Haaland is the standout by a country mile. Salah has a good record against Palace so is again in the conversation. De Bruyne or Jesus could be good differential options, but you would be very brave or very foolish to look past Haaland if you own him.
