The Official And He Takes That Chance Championship Fantasy Football League With Gaffr
No doubt you’ve heard of Fantasy Football. You may even play FPL (Fantasy Premier League, you can join the Official And He Takes That Chance FPL League here: https://www.takesthatchance.com/articles/2021/7/28/fkvhnyvs49fjqmzd5dcgcnzk3glaeu ) or one of the many other Premier League based Fantasy Football games.
So how about Fantasy Football for the Championship?
Gaffr have recently launched its second season of Championship Fantasy Football, and we here at And He Takes That Chance are giving you the opportunity to join the Official AHTTC league!
How is it different to FPL?
It works like FPL in the basic terms: you have £100 million to build a 15-man squad consisting of 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 forwards.
Your selected starting 11 score points by the real life players hitting certain criteria.
For example, if your forward scores, he scores 4 points.
However, in FPL a defender scores 4 points for a clean sheet, whereas in Gaffr, defenders score 2 points per clean sheet half.
Transfers
Not happy with one of your players? No problem, you can make one free transfer each Gameweek. If this is not used, it will be carried forward, and a maximum of two free transfers can be saved.
You can make more transfers, however, but beware, any additional transfers will incur a 4 point deduction to your Gameweek points total!
Captaincy
Unlike FPL, the captaincy differs.
Here, your Captain is awarded double points and your Vice Captain is awarded x1.5 points.
If your Captain or Vice Captain don’t play? Well, you also choose an Emergency Captain who will step in.
Bonus Points
Like FPL players also score Bonus Points, but here called Performance Points.
Players are awarded +4, +3, +2 and +1 Performance Points based on goals, assists, clean sheets, saves for goalkeepers, passes, dribbles, tackles…
Chips
In FPL you have Chips to use. Here, we have Boosts.
The season is divided into 3 periods of 15 Gameweeks. Each 15 Gameweeks you can choose 3 of 6 Boosts to help you score more points.
A selection of six Boosts from the following list will be available over the course of the season:
OVERHAUL
Like a Wildcard in FPL, the Overhaul gives you unlimited transfers for the Gameweek.
PARK THE BUS
Defenders score double. No Captain multipliers applied for any player or position.
GOALFEST
Each goal scored adds an additional 5 points to total. This includes penalties and goals scored by substitutes. Captain multipliers do not apply to the 5 point bonus
AWAY DAY
All players playing away from home score double.
MULTI CAPTAIN
Captain, Vice-Captain & Emergency Captain all score double.
JEEPERS KEEPERS
Your goalkeepers score an extra +2 for every clean sheet, +3 per save & +10 for a penalty save.
Price Rises and Falls
Like FPL, player prices will rise and fall over the course of the season, changing by 0.1 at a time, based on performances. This is especially crucial when looking at transfers.
